I love blogging because it is a lot like talking and not very formal. The blogs I read were very varied and diverse. There were math blogs (I also got some information I needed from this one), student blogs, teacher blogs, and author blogs. I belong to three list servers now and I am always linking to a blog about reading. It is updated and the latest.
I would love to blog more with my students as I feel this is a great way to get them writing more about things of interest to them.

Blogging is fun. I wish we had it when I was a teacher I would love to have used it for "writing" purposes. Trick them... whatever it takes to get a student motivated! :)
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a blast. I set one up with my class at the beginning of the year. We blog back and forth with a girl that teaches fourth grade. We share ideas and new learnings. Maybe you could try it with you lit circles. Just an idea. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me. I am blessed to be able to learn from you at work!
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet used blogging in the classroom, but I plan on doing it this coming year. I agree with you about getting the kids to write. I read the blog on SSR and that teacher used blogging as a tool to get his reluctant students to read!
ReplyDeleteI've always been impressed with the way you're always expanding your learning-good for you! I'm just now able to not be so intimidated by this process. You've inspired me!
